Stickerboy "Carbon Fiber Series - MacBook Air 11" review.

Up for review today is the "Carbon Fiber Series - MacBook Air 11" from sticker boy. You can get it from their website stickerboy.net for $49.95 + s&h.

You can have it in any color as long as it's aluminum silver, well not so fast apple. There seems to be more mac skin companies out there than apple haters. All seem to offer basically the same product, precision cut 3m macbook skins. After looking at most of them I decided to go with stickerboy's offering because it was one of the few whos skin included the trackpad and apple logo. Perfection is futile, but in the end you are able to have an macbook air which feels great while offering protection from scratches and your oily hands.

There are more than enough install videos all over the interwebs covering the application of mac book air skins, so ill leave it to the pro's who aren't camera shy, or you can go right here to stickerboy's website and just check out their own install videos.

I started off with the top skin, aligning the apple logo all the while having all the edges nice and even. Well a little easier said than done because it took multiple attempts, but in the end I was very happy with install. The corners didn't align perfectly, but there is the human factor here too, Me.

And who could forget the ever so classic apple logo awesomely contrasting against the black carbon skin, pretty sharp huh?

Next up was the bottom skin and again the fit was awesome. Okay so maybe some of those little screw holes were not perfect, but I can live with it. Start with the hinge and work your way down.

Last and certainly not least if your referring to difficulty to apply is the keyboard skin, but in the end turned out well. The cutouts are nice and precise, start with the track pad and work your way up.

After using my macbook with the carbon skin on the trackpad I decided to take it off, I didnt like the look of it, and it just obliterated the smoothness of the best track pad on the market.

I never intended to use the apple logo insert, but for review purposes I coulent leave it out, so here it is. These pictures don't do any justice what so ever.

If your looking for scratch protection in an awesome looking macbook air skin, defiantly check out stickerboy.net

  1. how did you get the apple logo to be just a sweet outline like that? Did you have to cut the logo cover yourself?

    1. Apple had them remove the Apple Logo for copyright reasons.
